Putin Pledges Support for Middle East Peace in Talks with Iran’s Foreign Minister

Russian President Vladimir Putin has reaffirmed Moscow’s commitment to promoting peace in the Middle East during a meeting with Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, in Saint Petersburg.

According to Russian state media, Putin assured the Iranian diplomat that Russia would take all necessary steps to support ility in the region. He emphasized that Moscow’s approach would prioritize not only Iran’s interests but also the broader goal of securing peace for all nations involved.

“For our part, we will do everything that serves your interests, the interests of all the people of the region, so that peace can be achieved as soon as possible,” Putin stated during the meeting.

Araghchi, who arrived in Russia amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East, blamed the United States for setbacks in diplomatic efforts aimed at ending the conflict. Despite these challenges, a ceasefire between the warring sides is reportedly still holding.

Putin also praised Iran’s resilience, commending what he described as the courage and determination of its people in defending their sovereignty and independence. He further reiterated Russia’s intention to strengthen its strategic partnership with Iran, signaling continued cooperation between the two nations on regional and global issues.

The meeting underscores Russia’s growing diplomatic engagement in Middle Eastern affairs, particularly as global powers seek pathways to de escalate conflicts and maintain fragile ceasefires.
