Tony Unuavworho Wins 2026 Africa Re Golf Tournament for CEOs at Ikoyi Club

Tony Unuavworho has emerged winner of the 2026 Africa Re Golf Tournament for CEOs after a tightly contested competition held at the golf section of the Ikoyi Club 1938 in Lagos.

Unuavworho secured victory with a total of 38 leford points, finishing ahead of runner up Ancy Okoebor, who recorded 36 points. Obinna Okwoji also finished with 36 points but placed third on countback in the closely fought tournament.

Speaking after his win, Unuavworho expressed delight at his performance, crediting both preparation and luck for his success. He also commended the organisers, the Africa Reinsurance Corporation, for sustaining the tournament and promoting corporate sports engagement across the continent.

The competition formed part of activities marking the 50th anniversary of Africa Reinsurance Corporation. Regional Director for Anglophone West Africa, Temitope Akinowa, said the organisation was pleased with the success of the third edition, noting its continued commitment to supporting sports and economic development in Africa.

He added that the strong turnout reflected the growing importance of the tournament as a platform that blends sport, networking and corporate celebration.

In other categories, winners emerged across various divisions, including las leford, longest drive challenges and nearest to the pin awards. Teams such as Davisther Brokers Limited topped the insurance category with a strong leford performance, narrowly edging competitors.

The tournament continues to gain prominence as a leading corporate golf event, bringing together executives, sponsors and athletes in an atmosphere that celebrates both sporting excellence and industry milestones.
