The absence of Victor Osimhen has begun to take a visible toll on Galatasaray as the Turkish Super Lig title race intensifies toward the final stretch of the season.

Since the Nigerian striker suffered an arm injury in March during a UEFA Champions League playoff clash against Liverpool, Galatasaray have struggled to maintain their dominance at the top of the table. The team has managed just one win in three league matches without him, collecting only four points from a possible nine.

This dip in form has allowed rivals Fenerbahce and Trabzonspor to close the gap significantly. Galatasaray now sit on 68 points, just two ahead of Fenerbahce and four above Trabzonspor, turning what once looked like a comfortable lead into a tense title battle.

Osimhen’s importance to the team is further highlighted by their overall record without him this season. Across competitions, Galatasaray have dropped 16 points in matches he missed, underlining his role as a key ing force. The 27 year old forward has contributed 12 league goals and four assists, along with seven goals in European competition.

Fans have started to express concern, with pressure mounting on coach Okan Buruk to reintegrate the striker quickly. Encouragingly, Osimhen has resumed non contact training and is expected to return to the squad soon, possibly in time for the crucial clash against Genclerbirligi and the highly anticipated derby against Fenerbahce.

Meanwhile, Mauro Icardi continues to lead the team’s scoring chart, but the absence of Osimhen has exposed gaps in Galatasaray’s ing depth.

With just five matches left in the season, Osimhen’s return could prove decisive in determining whether Galatasaray can secure the league title or surrender their lead under mounting pressure.
