Super Eagles striker Akor Adams has dismissed claims of dressing-room tensions during the Africa Cup of Nations, describing the widely reported exchange between Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman as a normal part of competitive football.

In an interview with SportyTV, Adams explained that the incident during Nigeria’s clash with Mozambique was quickly resolved and even served to boost team motivation ahead of their game against Algeria. “We all want the same thing. What happened against Mozambique was normal. It could even have happened in training,” he said.

The striker also defended Osimhen’s decision to stay at Galatasaray amid transfer speculation, emphasizing that personal happiness should guide professional choices. “A happy Victor is a victorious Victor. The decision he made makes him and his family happy,” Adams added.

Adams further expressed support for national team coach Eric Chelle, acknowledging the transitional phase of the Super Eagles while praising the depth of talent in the squad. Reflecting on Nigeria’s AFCON campaign, he noted the team gave its all despite challenges such as a tight travel schedule and eventual elimination on penalties.

On a personal note, Adams revealed that playing for Manchester United remains a lifelong dream. “As a kid who grew up in Nigeria, United was all I knew,” he said, describing the club as one of the best in the world alongside Sevilla.
