Aregbesola Calls on Tinubu to Resign Says Renewed Hope Agenda is a Scam

Former Minister of Interior and former Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola, has called on President Bola Tinubu to resign, citing worsening insecurity and deepening economic hardship across Nigeria.

Aregbesola made the statement while addressing delegates at the African Democratic Congress national convention in Abuja, where he currently serves as National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress. He described the administration’s Renewed Hope agenda as a scam, arguing that it has failed to deliver meaningful improvements in the lives of Nigerians.

He said the country is facing severe economic decline, pointing to sharp increases in exce rates and fuel prices since the current administration assumed office in 2023. According to him, the rising cost of living has placed unbearable pressure on citizens, making transportation and daily survival increasingly difficult.

Aregbesola also criticized the worsening security situation, alleging that the government has failed to effectively address the wave of violent s and insecurity across the country. He said many Nigerians are living in fear while the leadership has shown what he described as a lack of urgency and empathy.

The former governor further argued that the education sector has deteriorated, claiming that the number of out of school children has increased significantly. He said poverty levels have also worsened, pushing more citizens into extreme hardship.

He urged Nigerians to resist what he called continued mismanagement, describing the ADC as a rescue platform committed to restoring accountability and rebuilding national trust. He emphasized that freedom of association remains a constitutional right and called on citizens to actively participate in shaping the country’s political future.

The speech has sparked renewed political debate as opposition voices intensify criticism of the current administration ahead of future elections.
