Rangers FC are reportedly demanding at least £20 million for Nigeria international Emmanuel Fernandez as interest grows from top clubs ahead of the summer transfer window.

The 24 year old centre back, who joined Rangers last summer, has enjoyed a breakout debut season at Ibrox, quickly elishing himself as a key figure in defence. His strong performances have helped the club remain competitive in the Scottish Premiership title race after a difficult start to the campaign.

According to reports, several Premier League clubs are monitoring his progress, including Arsenal FC and West Ham United, while Dutch side AFC Ajax have also been linked with interest.

Rangers are said to be open to selling the defender but will only accept offers that meet their valuation, especially given his impact in his first season. The club’s stance may also depend on their final league position and whether they secure qualification for the UEFA Champions League.

Beyond his defensive contributions, Fernandez has added an ing edge to his game, scoring six goals in 28 appearances across all competitions, an impressive return for a centre back.

His rise has also been mirrored on the international stage with the Nigeria national football team. Fernandez recently earned his debut for Nigeria, scoring in one of his early appearances and further boosting his profile.

He was also named in the Scottish Premiership Team of the Season, underlining his rapid development and growing reputation across Europe.

However, any potential transfer could depend on whether interested clubs are willing to meet Rangers’ £20 million asking price, particularly given that the defender has only one full season of top flight experience and limited exposure in European competitions.

As the summer window approaches, Fernandez is expected to be one of the most closely watched young defenders in European football.
