The National Youth Service Corps has released call up letters for prospective corps members in the 2026 Batch A Stream II, marking the final stage of mobilisation for thousands of Nigerian graduates preparing for national service.
Checks confirmed that the call up numbers and deployment details were uploaded to the NYSC portal early Monday morning, allowing candidates to begin accessing their posting information. However, many prospective corps members reported difficulties logging in due to heavy traffic on the system.
Several users described delays and intermittent access issues while attempting to check their deployment status, with some expressing frustration over the slow response of the portal during peak usage hours.
The official NYSC portal, https://portal.nysc.org.ng/nysc2/
and https://portal.nysc.org.ng/nysc1/
, was activated for candidates to retrieve their call up letters and confirm state postings.
Reactions also flooded social media platforms, where many prospective corps members shared concerns about delayed access and uncertainty regarding their deployment states.
The release of call up letters follows an earlier announcement by the scheme outlining the timetable for the 2026 orientation exercise. According to NYSC spokesperson Caroline Embu, the orientation course is scheduled to commence on April 22 nationwide.
She explained that registration and reception of corps members will run from April 22 to April 24, while the swearing in ceremony is slated for April 24. The orientation programme will continue until May 12, 2026.
The NYSC also issued safety guidelines advising prospective corps members to avoid night travel. It urged travellers to break their journeys once it is 6 pm and continue their trips the following morning to ensure safety.
The mobilisation process represents the final stage before deployment, as thousands of graduates across Nigeria prepare to begin their mandatory one year national service under the scheme.
