The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has dismissed as fake a widely circulated result slip claiming that a candidate scored 394 in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination. The document, which gained traction on X, alleged that a student from Cross River State achieved near perfect scores across four subjects.

The viral post, shared by a user identified as @Onsogbu, claimed that the candidate scored 96 in Use of English, 99 in Biology, 98 in Chemistry, and 99 in Physics. The impressive breakdown quickly drew attention online, with many praising what appeared to be an extraordinary academic performance.

However, in an official statement released on Sunday, JAMB spokesperson Fabian Benjamin described the result slip as entirely fabricated. He expressed concern that such misinformation was being widely shared, even among informed members of the public.

According to the Board, UTME results are strictly view only and are not issued as downloadable or shareable slips in the format seen online. Benjamin noted that the circulating document was created using a fake template, making it easy to identify as fraudulent.

He further explained that the registration number displayed on the alleged result does not conform to JAMB’s official system generated format. Specifically, he pointed out that the numbering pattern used in the fake slip does not exist within the Board’s records, highlighting clear inconsistencies.

JAMB urged candidates, parents, and the general public to rely only on official communication channels when checking examination results. The Board reiterated that all UTME results remain view only and warned against spreading unverified information.
