The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has announced that results for candidates who sat for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination on Thursday, April 16, will be released on Friday, April 17.
This was disclosed by the board’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, in a post shared on X, where he assured candidates that the results would be made available before midnight. He added that an official announcement would be issued once the results are fully released.
According to the statement, candidates can expect timely access to their scores as part of the board’s continued efforts to improve efficiency and transparency in the examination process.
The UTME, which began earlier this week, is scheduled to run through April 22. The examination is conducted in four daily sessions, starting at 7:30 am and ending at 6:00 pm. This structure is designed to accommodate the large number of candidates while reducing congestion at Computer Based Test centres nationwide.
For the 2026 exercise, nearly 2.2 million candidates are participating across 966 accredited centres. Each centre is required to meet strict operational standards, including the provision of functional computer systems, le internet connectivity, reliable electricity supply, and adequately trained personnel.
The board emphasized that these measures are critical to ensuring a smooth and credible examination process for all candidates.
JAMB’s commitment to releasing results promptly reflects ongoing reforms aimed at enhancing the credibility of Nigeria’s tertiary admission system and improving the overall experience for candidates.
