Popular media personality Roby Ekpo has disclosed plans to petition United States authorities over alleged marriage fraud involving his ex-wife, Mayowa Lambe.

The development follows reports that Lambe recently remarried in the United States, a move Ekpo claims occurred without a formal dissolution of their marriage. Reacting during a viral interview, Ekpo expressed surprise at the situation and maintained that they are still legally married.

He further alleged that he had supported Lambe financially, including facilitating her travel arrangements during a recent visit to Nigeria. Ekpo insists these actions reflect an ongoing relationship, contradicting claims that their union had ended.

In response, Lambe, through her legal representatives, issued a cease and desist notice demanding that Ekpo retract his statements, issue a public apology, and pay N100 million in damages for alleged defamation. She maintains that their marriage was mutually terminated in May 2025.

Ekpo, however, has rejected the demands, describing them as excessive and without merit. Through his legal team, Tap Legal Services, he stated that his comments were based on personal experiences and not intended to defame.

He also signaled readiness to defend himself in court and indicated that he may escalate the matter internationally. According to his legal representatives, evidence relating to the dispute could be submitted to the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services as part of a formal petition.

The case now appears set for a legal showdown, with both parties standing firm on their claims and counterclaims.
