The Nigerian Air Force has carried out successful airstrikes that destroyed terrorist hideouts in the Southern Tumbuns area of Borno State, reinforcing ongoing military efforts against insurgency in the region.

According to a statement issued in Abuja by Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the operation took place on Friday evening at about 1850 hours. The targeted location was Ali Sheriffti, a known terrorist enclave where intelligence reports had indicated active insurgent movements.

Ejodame explained that NAF air assets conducted detailed surveillance before the strike, identifying several insurgents moving through concealed routes. The individuals were tracked to structures hidden beneath dense vegetation, which were subsequently engaged after confirmation.

“Following positive identification, the Nigerian Air Force executed a precise strike, engaging the structures with onboard munitions,” he said. The reportedly achieved its objective, destroying key terrorist infrastructure and weakening their operational capabilities in the area.

The operation highlights the Air Force’s continued reliance on intelligence driven and precision focused strategies to disrupt terrorist networks and eliminate safe havens. Officials say such strikes are part of broader efforts to limit insurgent mobility and coordination across the region.

Ejodame also quoted the Chief of the Air Staff, Sunday Aneke, who reaffirmed the military’s commitment to intensifying operations against terrorist groups. He stressed that sustained pressure would be maintained to ensure the safety and security of citizens.

“The Nigerian Air Force will continue to pursue and dismantle terrorist networks with unwavering precision and relentless force,” Aneke said, emphasizing that no enclave would remain beyond reach.
