The Adamawa Taraba Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has intercepted contraband goods including petroleum products, second hand clothing, unregistered drugs, donkey skin, and donkey meat with a total duty paid value exceeding ₦98 million.

The Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Mohammed Tanko, disclosed this during a press briefing held at the command headquarters in Yola, Adamawa State, on Wednesday.

He said the seizures were recorded over a six week period as part of intensified anti smuggling operations carried out across strategic border corridors in Adamawa and Taraba States.

According to him, operatives intercepted multiple consignments including second hand clothing and high dosage pharmaceutical products along the Savannah Numan axis in early February 2026.

He also revealed that security operatives recovered large quantities of donkey skin and dried donkey meat along the Mubi Sangere axis, describing the act as illegal wildlife trafficking and a public health concern.

Other interceptions included several jerry cans of Premium Motor Spirit and Automotive Gas Oil along routes such as Likitaba Gembu, Mubi Sahuda, Maiha Belel, and Toungo Ganye axes.
