A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Engr. Ciroma Almajiri Joseph, has withdrawn from the Kaduna South Senatorial District race ahead of the 2027 general elections, throwing his support behind the incumbent senator, Sunday Marshall Katung.

Joseph, widely known as Hasken Southern Kaduna, announced his decision in a statement dated April 20, 2026, explaining that the move followed extensive consultations with family members, political allies, community leaders, and supporters across the district.

He described his withdrawal as a decision rooted in patriotism, political maturity, and the need to preserve unity within the APC in Southern Kaduna. According to him, his long standing relationship with Senator Katung, which spans more than 30 years, played a significant role in his choice.

“I have decided to step down from my aspiration under the platform of the APC and throw my full support behind the incumbent Distinguished Senator, Sunday Marshall Katung, in his quest for a second term,” Joseph stated.
