‘Iyanu’ Animated Series Premieres on Cartoon Network

The animated series “: of Wonder” premiered on Cartoon Network on 5, 2025, with streaming available on Max April 6, 2025. Adapted from Roye Okupe’s graphic novel series, the show is in the magical kingdom of Yorubaland and follows Iyanu, a young orphan who she possesses divine powers reminiscent of the legendary Age of Wonders. Accompanied by her friends Biyi and Toye, Iyanu embarks on a journey to uncover the source of an ancient evil threatening her homeland.

The series features an all-African , Serah Johnson as Iyanu, Okey as Biyi, Samuel Kugbiyi as Toye, Adesua Etomi-Wellington as Olori, Blossom Chukwujekwu as Kanfo, Stella Damasus as Sewa, Shaffy Bello as Emi, and Ike Ononye as Elder Alapani. The writers’ room led by Brandon Easton, with from Emmy winner Kerri .

The theme song, “You Are,” performed by Afropop artist Yemi Alade, was released on 13, 2025, coinciding with Alade’s birthday. The track became available on streaming platforms, including Spotify and Music.
