Sanwo Olu Urges Unity As Lagos APC Re Elects Ojelabi Ahead Of 2027

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has called for stronger unity and inclusiveness within the All Progressives Congress in Lagos State following the re election of Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi as chairman of the party in the state.

Speaking at the party congress held at Mobolaji Johnson Arena the governor congratulated the newly elected State Executive Council and urged them to consolidate the achievements of the party as preparations gradually begin for the 2027 general elections. Ojelabi was returned unopposed through an affirmation process for a second four year term alongside other executive members.

Sanwo Olu emphasised that Lagos has consistently demonstrated unity of purpose and must continue to serve as a model for party organisation and governance across the country. He encouraged the executives to expand the party base strengthen grassroots mobilisation and uphold fairness and equity in their dealings.

The governor also acknowledged the leadership of President Bola Tinubu describing him as a guiding force in the development and stability of the APC. He noted that sustained internal cohesion would be crucial as the party positions itself for future electoral contests.

In his acceptance speech Ojelabi expressed gratitude to party members and stakeholders for their confidence in his leadership. He pledged to focus on reconciliation strategic engagement and effective mobilisation to ensure continued electoral success.

The event was attended by key political figures and party elders who reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the structure of the APC in Lagos State ahead of 2027.
