Oyetola Urges Second Term for President Tinubu to Complete Reforms

The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Dr Adegboyega Oyetola, has stressed that President Bola Tinubu needs a second term to consolidate ongoing reforms and stabilise Nigeria’s economy. Speaking as the leader of the All Progressives Congress in Osun, Oyetola emphasized that continuity is essential at this stage of national development.

In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media, Dr Bolaji Akinola, Oyetola said that more time is required for the President to fully deliver democratic dividends. On February 14, 2026, Oyetola led the Osun APC to endorse Tinubu at a reception in Osogbo, following a careful evaluation of the administration’s performance and reform agenda.

“Continuity is crucial at this stage of Nigeria’s development. A second term will enable the President to consolidate reforms, complete major infrastructure projects and stabilise the economy,” Oyetola said. He commended Tinubu for his courageous decisions to rescue the economy and implement bold fiscal and monetary reforms that have improved revenue generation, transparency, and investor confidence.

Oyetola highlighted that infrastructure development remains central to the administration’s strategy, with significant investments in roads, rail, ports, and energy. These projects are expanding economic opportunities, enhancing connectivity, and creating jobs nationwide. He also praised the government’s social welfare initiatives, including student loans and support for small and medium enterprises, demonstrating a people-focused approach.

Security coordination has also improved under Tinubu’s leadership, with strengthened support for law enforcement enhancing national stability. Oyetola assured that APC members in Osun are fully aligned behind the President’s re-election bid, emphasizing that a second term is vital for sustainable growth and long-term national development.
