Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has endorsed U.S. President Donald Trump’s 20-point peace plan aimed at resolving the Gaza conflict. Announced during a press conference on September 29, 2025, Netanyahu highlighted that the plan aligns with Israeli goals, such as the return of hostages, dismantling Hamas’ military capabilities, and preventing future threats from Gaza.

The plan proposes establishing an international transitional government in Gaza, overseen by a board including Trump and former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair, focusing on redevelopment and security. However, it requires Hamas to disarm and relinquish its political influence—conditions the group has not accepted.

Trump indicated that should Hamas refuse the proposal, Israel would have the full support of the U.S. to continue military operations until Hamas is entirely neutralized. Netanyahu expressed hope that the governance structure could foster lasting peace but warned of Israel’s willingness to take unilateral measures to resolve the conflict if Hamas obstructs progress, stating it would be settled “the easy way or the hard way.”

The plan also includes a phased Israeli military withdrawal from Gaza contingent on the release of all hostages within 72 hours, while maintaining Israeli security control over a demilitarized territory. Netanyahu opposed the creation of a Palestinian state, claiming it would reward terrorism and pose a threat to Israeli security.

International responses have been mixed, with some viewing it as a significant step toward peace, while others raise concerns about its feasibility and the potential for increased regional instability. Ongoing discussions and negotiations continue to shape the situation, as both sides seek a resolution to the longstanding conflict.
