Caitlin Clark Withdraws from 2025 WNBA All-Star Game Due to Groin Injury; Replacement Announced

Caitlin Clark, the standout guard for the Indiana Fever, has withdrawn from the upcoming WNBA All-Star Game and 3-Point Contest due to a right groin injury sustained in the final minute of a recent victory over the Connecticut Sun. Clark announced her decision on social media, expressing her disappointment and confirming her intention to attend the events in a coaching capacity. She stated, “I am incredibly sad and disappointed to say I can’t participate in the 3-Point Contest or the All-Star Game. I have to rest my body. I will still be at Gainbridge Fieldhouse for all the action and I’m looking forward to helping Sandy [Brondello] coach our team to a win. Can’t wait to see you all out.

The injury occurred late in the game against the Sun, leading to her absence in the subsequent matchup against the New York Liberty. Fever head coach Stephanie White mentioned that Clark underwent imaging on Wednesday and deferred to the medical staff for further details, hinting at optimistic news regarding the injury’s extent.

As a result of Clark’s withdrawal, Brittney Sykes of the Washington Mystics has been selected to replace her in the All-Star Game. The WNBA has yet to announce a substitute for Clark in the 3-Point.
