Charlie Wilson, the renowned R&B icon, has unveiled the “Uncle Charlie’s R&B Cookout Tour,” a star-studded summer event featuring Babyface, K-Ci Hailey, and El DeBarge. The tour is set to commence on August 27 at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles and will traverse over 20 cities across the United States, culminating on October 12 at the FedExForum in Memphis.
Wilson, celebrated for his tenure with The Gap Band and his successful solo career, expressed his enthusiasm for the tour, stating, “This tour is unlike anything I’ve done before. As someone who truly loves R&B, getting to share the stage with my friends Babyface, K-Ci, and El is something I’m really looking forward to.”
The lineup boasts Babyface, a 13-time Grammy-winning singer-songwriter known for hits like “Every Time I Close My Eyes” and “Whip Appeal.” K-Ci Hailey, famed for his work with Jodeci and K-Ci & JoJo, will deliver classics such as “All My Life” and “Forever My Lady.” El DeBarge, with his distinctive falsetto, will perform timeless tracks like “Rhythm of the Night” and “I Like It.”
The tour aims to provide fans with a nostalgic experience, blending R&B classics with a festive atmosphere reminiscent of a family reunion. Select cities will offer VIP cookout experiences, featuring all-you-can-eat soul food, enhancing the cultural celebration of Black music.
Tickets for the “Uncle Charlie’s R&B Cookout Tour” are available through the official tour website and various ticketing platforms. Pre-sale tickets were offered starting April 15, with general sales commencing on April 18.
