Illiyasu Musa Kwankwaso, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has called on opposition leaders, including former vice president Atiku Abubakar, Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) leader Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, to focus on helping Nigerians out of economic hardship instead of consistently criticizing the Federal Government. Speaking to reporters in Kano on Thursday, he acknowledged the current economic difficulties facing Nigerians but defended President Bola Tinubu‘s administration, stating it is making efforts to improve living conditions.
Kwankwaso expressed his dissatisfaction with the opposition leaders’ approach, arguing that instead of offering constructive support and solutions, they engage in persistent and destructive criticism that distracts the government from its mission. “Let us see their contributions; they should proffer solutions and be supportive, rather than criticising destructively,” he stated.
He questioned the individual efforts of these leaders in addressing the challenges faced by Nigerians. Specifically, he asked what Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, as a presidential candidate, has done for his immediate constituents and neighboring states like Jigawa and Katsina to alleviate the suffering of his NNPP supporters. “What is their individual contributions to the wellbeing of Nigerians at this critical period?” he asked.
Kwankwaso criticized his namesake for focusing on political battles rather than providing tangible relief, particularly highlighting his actions against the state government in Kano. “Rather, he is busy fighting his own government at the state level, especially in Kano state,” he added.
The APC chieftain emphasized the need for opposition figures to shift their focus from political conflicts and instead contribute positively to addressing the economic crisis in the country. He urged them to collaborate with the Federal Government in finding solutions that would benefit all Nigerians, stressing the importance of unity and constructive efforts during these challenging times.
I think the opposition leaders should stop complaining and start offering real solutions. Action speaks louder than words!
I think the opposition leaders should focus on supporting small businesses instead of just criticizing. Actions speak louder than words!
Criticism can lead to change. Small businesses need support, not just empty words.
I think the APC chieftains call for solutions is valid, but lets also hold the government accountable for the economic hardship.
I think the APC chieftains call for opposition leaders to provide solutions is fair. Its time for everyone to step up and work together.
Agree, but actions speak louder than words. Lets see real collaboration and results.
I think the APC chieftain should focus on addressing the root causes of economic hardship, not just blame the opposition leaders.
I think its unfair to expect opposition leaders to solve everything. We all need to work together to tackle economic challenges.
Opposition leaders play a crucial role in holding the government accountable. Collaboration is key.
I think the opposition leaders should focus on criticizing less and offering concrete solutions to tackle economic challenges. Time for action, not just talk!
I think its hypocritical for an APC chieftain to ask for solutions when they are part of the problem!
I dont think opposition leaders owe us any solutions. The ruling party should be held accountable for the mess were in.
I think the APC chieftains call is valid, but shouldnt the government take responsibility too? Both sides need to step up!
