Walt Disney World Issues Cold Weather Alerts as Rare Hard Freeze Approaches

Walt Disney World in Florida issued weather advisories on January 29 2026 as forecasts warned of a rare hard freeze expected to impact central Florida overnight and into the early hours of January 30. Meteorologists predicted temperatures dropping into the teens with unusually strong wind chills for the region.

Park officials said cold weather protocols were activated to protect guests staff and infrastructure. Measures included adjustments to outdoor attractions protection of sensitive landscaping and additional guidance for visitors unfamiliar with extreme cold conditions in the area.

The National Weather Service said the cold air mass moving into Florida was linked to a strong Arctic system affecting large parts of the southeastern United States.
