Two senior media aides to Dr Lucky Aiyedatiwa have resigned their appointments within 48 hours, raising concerns about morale within the governor’s communications team.

The officials include Pastor Taiwo Ilesanmi Gbamila, Senior Special Assistant on Multimedia, and Mr Olugbenga Abire, Special Assistant on Media. Both did not provide official reasons for their resignations.

It was gathered that several other media aides may also resign, citing alleged poor treatment, inadequate funding, and dissatisfaction with current working conditions. Pastor Gbamila formally submitted his resignation letter to the governor on Monday, copying the office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), expressing gratitude for the opportunity to serve.

Abire reflected on his tenure since joining the administration on December 23, 2023. In a farewell message shared on the governor’s media platform, he acknowledged the challenges and bonds formed within the small three-person team. “Sometimes, we faced the frenzy. We shouted where necessary. We kicked. But love continued,” he wrote. He confirmed that he had informed Governor Aiyedatiwa of his decision, and the governor prayed for him and sanctioned his exit.

The Secretary to the State Government, Taiwo Fasoranti, was unavailable for comment at the time of reporting.
