Dominik Szoboszlai has made it clear that Mohamed Salah’s current issues with Liverpool are personal and not soing that involves the rest of the squad.
Salah was left out of the team that beat Inter Milan 1-0 in the Champions League, a match where Szoboszlai scored the winning goal late in the game. The Egyptian forward was dropped following a fiery interview in which he accused the club of breaking promises and making him a scapegoat.
With reports linking Salah to a possible move to the Saudi Pro League, Szoboszlai said the team has no say in what happens next. He expressed his respect for Salah but stressed that the matter is between the player and the club.
“I’m very close with him. It’s nothing to do with the players. It’s him and his own choice with what he is doing with his own life and his own career. It’s nothing to do with the players I guess so nothing to say about it,” Szoboszlai said.
When asked if he wanted Salah to remain at Anfield, he replied, “It’s not our decision as players. I love him as a human being, as a friend of mine. As a player he has done so much for this club it’s going to be the club’s and his decision.”
Midfielder Curtis Jones also shared his thoughts, saying, “Mo is his own man. I can’t really speak on another man and his business. Everyone knows how much of a legend that Mo is. The situation that he has got, it is not for me to say.”
Salah’s future remains uncertain, but for now, his teammates are staying focused on their own roles while the situation unfolds.
