Governor Chukwuma Soludo has rejected social media claims that former Anambra governor Willie Obiano died in a London hospital. In a statement released by his press secretary, Christian Aburime, Soludo called the reports false and malicious.

Soludo said he spoke directly with Obiano and confirmed that the former governor is alive and in good health. He described the spread of the rumour as reckless and warned that such false stories damage public trust.

The governor urged journalists and online publishers to confirm facts through official channels before publishing. He emphasised that sharing unverified reports about someone’s death is irresponsible and harmful.
