The Adamawa State Police Command has rescued two kidnapped victims and arrested a suspected kidnapper during a coordinated security operation in Song Local Government Area of the state.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the command’s spokesperson, Suleiman Nguroje, said the victims were abducted at Gwewan Village, Dumne in Song LGA before security operatives launched a rescue mission.

According to Nguroje, the operation followed the strategic deployment of combined security assets by the Commissioner of Police, Dankwambo Morris. The joint task team comprised police operatives and members of local security outfits.

The police disclosed that the team carried out a coordinated raid on a suspected kidnappers’ hideout at Suktu Mountain on February 11, 2026. Upon sighting the security personnel, the suspected kidnappers reportedly engaged them in a gun duel.

The suspects were, however, overpowered and fled the scene with possible gunshot injuries, abandoning the two victims. The rescued victims were identified as Rabe Mamman Sani, 18, and Aminu Mamman Sani, 16. Both were rescued unharmed.
