During his visit to Zaria, Obi also engaged with graduating pilots at the airport, encouraging them to uphold discipline, integrity, and professionalism qualities he said are essential for Nigeria’s progress.
In Minna, Obi presented Babangida with an autographed copy of Growing Apart, a book comparing Indonesia’s success with Nigeria’s struggles, which Babangida had previously recommended. Their conversation covered topics such as national unity, security issues, and improving the welfare of Nigerian citizens.
Obi described these engagements as reinforcing his belief that honest dialogue is crucial for meaningful progress and reiterated his commitment to building “a New Nigeria.”
This strategic outreach to northern leaders underscores Obi’s serious ambitions for the 2027 elections and his recognition of the region’s critical electoral significance.
