Pakistan detains four individuals linked to fatal explosion near Islamabad courthouse.

In a crucial development, Pakistani authorities have arrested four suspects linked to the suicide bombing outside the District Judicial Complex in Islamabad’s G-11 sector on November 11, 2025, which resulted in 12 fatalities and 36 injuries. The arrests were made through a coordinated operation involving the Intelligence Bureau and the Counter-Terrorism Department.

The suspects are thought to be affiliated with the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), a banned militant organization with connections to the Taliban in Afghanistan. One key detainee, Sajidullah alias Sheena, is believed to have been the handler of the suicide bomber, identified as Usman alias Qari from Achin, Nangarhar, Afghanistan. Investigations revealed that Sheena coordinated with TTP commander Saeed-ur-Rehman, based in Afghanistan, to put together the attack. Daadullah allegedly provided photographs of the bomber to Sheena, who then arranged accommodation near Islamabad and sourced a suicide vest from Peshawar. On the day of the incident, Sheena was reported to have assisted the bomber in wearing the explosive device.

The Pakistani government has confirmed that the entire network involved in the bombing has been captured. Ongoing investigations may lead to further findings and arrests. The attack poses significant challenges for Pakistan in battling militancy, particularly with groups operating across the Afghan border. The involvement of Afghan nationals has escalated tensions between Islamabad and Kabul, emphasizing the urgent need for enhanced collaboration to tackle cross-border terrorism.
