The Osun State Police Command has arrested four individuals, including an Imam, following the death of a worshipper, Najeem Hammed, during morning prayers at the Ummu Hanni Adigun Memorial Central Mosque in Ogo-Oluwa, Osogbo.

According to sources, Hammed attempted to attack the Imam with a microphone stand after becoming displeased with a sermon he believed targeted him. The attack failed, and Hammed was immediately seized by other worshippers, dragged outside the mosque, and beaten.

A member of the congregation told reporters that the Imam was still delivering his sermon when Hammed approached him. After missing the attack, Hammed sustained serious injuries from the beating. He was taken to a police station, and while in custody, his condition worsened. He was rushed to a hospital but was later confirmed dead.
