Former Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, has expressed strong confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic reforms, describing them as courageous steps aimed at securing a more sustainable and le future for Nigeria, despite the current hardships being experienced by citizens.

Okowa made this known on Tuesday in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area, during the groundbreaking ceremony of the N59 billion Agbor/Uromi Junction Flyover, performed by Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori.

According to the former governor and senator, the scale and importance of the project underscore the commitment of the present administration to meaningful development.

“What I see here gives me peace. Delta State is clearly on the right path because Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is doing the right things,” Okowa said. He described Oborevwori as a dependable leader who has successfully translated vision into tangible results, noting that infrastructure development is evenly spread across the state.

He referred to the Uromi Junction Flyover as a monumental project and highlighted other key initiatives in Delta North, including the Ugbolu–Okpanam Road and the Aboh–Akara concrete road, as evidence of balanced and purposeful governance.

Turning to national issues, Okowa urged Nigerians to assess President Tinubu’s reforms with patience and fairness. Drawing from his experience in government, he noted that many states and local governments are now paying salaries more regularly and clearing long-standing pension and gratuity arrears, attributing these improvements to federal economic policies.

He also commended Governor Oborevwori for aligning Delta State with the federal government, describing the move as strategic and beneficial to the people. Okowa concluded by expressing optimism about Nigeria’s future, stating that although the reforms come with initial pain, their positive impact will soon become evident.
