Nottingham Forest secures French striker Arnaud Kalimuendo from Stade Rennais for £26 million, bolstering their attack ahead of the new Premier League season.

Nottingham Forest has bolstered its attacking lineup by securing the services of French striker Arnaud Kalimuendo from Ligue 1 side Stade Rennais. The 23-year-old forward has signed a five-year contract with the Premier League club, with the transfer fee reported to be approximately £26 million.

Kalimuendo began his career at Paris Saint-Germain’s academy, making his senior debut in 2020. He then had two successful loan spells at RC Lens, scoring 21 goals in 65 appearances. In August 2022, he joined Stade Rennais, where he continued to impress, netting 40 goals in 112 appearances across all competitions. During the 2024–25 season, Kalimuendo was particularly prolific, scoring 18 goals and providing four assists in 34 Ligue 1 matches.

Internationally, Kalimuendo represented France at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, contributing to the team’s silver medal finish. His performances have attracted attention from several European clubs, with Nottingham Forest emerging as the frontrunner in securing his signature.

Expressing his enthusiasm about the move, Kalimuendo stated, “This is a proud moment for me, joining a team who had a strong season last year and a club with great history.” He added, “I’m ready for the challenge, and I arrive here with good experience.

Nottingham Forest’s recent spending spree has significantly strengthened their squad ahead of the new Premier League season. These acquisitions underscore the club’s ambition to build on their impressive seventh-place finish in the 2024–25 season and their return to European competition for the first time since 1996.
