Nigerian President Tinubu Departs for State Visit to Turkey

Nigerian President Bola Tinubu has departed Abuja for a state visit to Turkey aimed at strengthening diplomatic and economic ties between the two countries. The visit comes amid growing interest in expanding bilateral cooperation in trade infrastructure investment and security.

Officials said Tinubu’s meetings in Ankara will include talks with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and senior government ministers. Key topics are expected to include energy partnerships, defence collaboration, infrastructure development and strategies to boost trade volumes between Africa’s largest economy and Turkey.

Turkey has been expanding its economic presence across Africa in recent years while Nigeria continues to seek diversified partnerships to support its development priorities and attract foreign direct investment. During his visit Tinubu is expected to meet with business leaders and participate in forums to promote Nigerian investment opportunities.
