Troops of the Nigerian Army’s 8 Division Garrison Strike Force, operating under Operation Fansan Yamma (Sector 2), have achieved major success in their ongoing offensive within the Sububu Forest in Maradun Local Government Area, Zamfara State.

According to Captain David Adewusi, Media Information Officer of the operation, the military offensive led to the neutralisation of six terrorists, recovery of arms and ammunition, destruction of terrorist infrastructure, and the rescue of an underage kidnap victim, Halira Ibrahim.

The operation commenced with a targeted assault on Indulumu village, where soldiers engaged and neutralised two terrorists. Troops then advanced to Ruduno village, encountering further resistance, and successfully neutralised four additional terrorists, dismantling a key element of the terrorist network.

The statement highlighted that mobility instruments and logistical equipment used by the terrorists were destroyed on-site. The operation also resulted in the rescue of Halira Ibrahim, ending her ordeal and providing relief to the local community.
