The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, has affirmed that President Bola Tinubu’s youth empowerment initiatives are genuine efforts aimed at expanding opportunities for all Nigerian youths, regardless of political affiliation.

Speaking during an interactive session with youths from the APC Youth Wing and tertiary institutions in Abuja, Idris emphasized that programmes like the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) and the Three Million Technical Talent (3MTT) initiative are designed to be inclusive and accessible to all Nigerians.

He highlighted that over 788,000 students currently benefit from NELFUND, with more than N250 billion committed to tuition support and upkeep across tertiary institutions nationwide. The 3MTT programme aims to train three million Nigerians in high-demand technical and digital ss to boost employability and competitiveness in the global digital economy.

Idris noted that even critics from other political parties are enrolling in these programmes, demonstrating their effectiveness and reach.

Describing the Tinubu administration as the most youth-friendly in Nigeria’s history, Idris pointed to large scale empowerment programmes and the appointment of young people to strategic leadership roles. He urged youths to trust the administration, which he said is heavily investing in their future.

On the economy, the minister reported positive signs of recovery, including a steady reduction in food prices and inflation, which currently stands at 14.45%, below the projected 15%. He also highlighted Nigeria’s recent removal from the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) grey list as a milestone that will boost financial integrity and investor confidence.

Idris called on young Nigerians to support the administration and use their social media influence responsibly by verifying information before sharing to combat misinformation.

He reaffirmed that the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda is strongly rooted in youth empowerment, inclusion, and national renewal, emphasizing that the future being built belongs to all Nigerians.
