In a gripping UEFA Champions League match at Parc des Princes, Bayern Munich triumphed over Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) with a score of 2-1, maintaining their unbeaten start to the season. Luis Díaz emerged as the star, scoring both goals for Bayern before being sent off in first-half stoppage time.

The match kicked off with high energy, as Bayern’s aggressive pressing unsettled PSG from the beginning. In the fourth minute, Michael Olise’s initial shot was saved by PSG goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier, and Díaz capitalized on the rebound for an early lead. Despite PSG’s efforts to level the score, Bayern’s sturdy defense held firm.

Midway through the first half, Díaz struck again, intercepting a pass from PSG captain Marquinhos and scoring with composure. However, his night took a downturn just before halftime when he received a red card for a reckless challenge on Achraf Hakimi, leaving Bayern to play with ten men in the second half.

The second half saw PSG controlling possession, but Bayern’s defense, anchored by Manuel Neuer, stood resolute. PSG’s João Neves later scored a stunning bicycle kick in the 74th minute, igniting hope for the home side. Despite late pressure from PSG, Bayern secured the win, marking their 16th consecutive victory across all competitions.

Post-match, Bayern coach Vincent Kompany highlighted the importance of the win for progressing in the Champions League, while PSG manager Luis Enrique acknowledged Bayern’s superiority during the match. The game also saw injuries to key PSG players, including Ousmane Dembélé and Hakimi. Enrique stressed the need for calm management of these setbacks as both teams look to regroup in the ongoing group stage.
