LinkedIn Tops 100 Million Verified Members and Moves to Spread Verification Widely

LinkedIn has passed the milestone of 100 million verified members, reaching the target it set about two years ago just before the end of 2025.

The platform says verification helps users trust that profiles are real and not fake. LinkedIn plans for every member, job listing and company page to carry at least one verification over time.

LinkedIn shared data showing verified people get up to 60% more profile views and up to 50% more engagement on posts than those who are not verified. Verified organizations see much larger gains, with 10.9 times more views and 7.7 times more followers.

When Product VP Oscar Rodriguez first announced the 100 million goal in October 2023, LinkedIn had about 18 million verified accounts. Since then the company has worked to grow its verification program.

LinkedIn will also offer a self-serve API so developers can add trust signals such as identity and workplace to other apps and sites. This will let users show their LinkedIn verification status outside LinkedIn.

To mark the milestone, LinkedIn added Zoom as a partner. Zoom profiles can now show a user’s LinkedIn verification. Adobe, G2, UserTesting and TrustRadius already include this feature.

“Using Verified on LinkedIn, users will be able to use the verifications they’ve completed on LinkedIn to show who they are across the different online platforms they use, boosting trust, confidence and credibility,” Rodriguez noted.

“ We’re proud to team up with LinkedIn to make it easier for people to show up as their authentic selves in meetings securely, confidently, and ready to collaborate,” Zoom Head of AI Partnerships Ross Mayfield wrote.
