The Peoples Democratic Party in Lagos State has criticised the All Progressives Congress, accusing the ruling party of focusing on propaganda and interfering in the affairs of the opposition while Nigerians continue to struggle with worsening economic conditions.

In a statement released by the Lagos PDP Publicity Secretary, Christopher Odianarewo, the party described recent comments made by the Lagos APC spokesperson, Seye Oladejo, as delusional and unnecessary.

The opposition party said it was surprising that the APC, which it claimed presides over one of the most difficult economic periods in the country’s history, would focus its attention on the internal matters of the PDP rather than addressing the challenges facing citizens.

According to the statement, the APC both in Lagos State and at the federal level should focus more on addressing the suffering of Nigerians instead of engaging in political s against the opposition.

The PDP further alleged that residents of Lagos and Nigerians in general are experiencing severe economic hardship under the APC led government. It claimed that the current administration has turned the nation’s economy into what it described as a laboratory of poverty where many citizens struggle to afford basic needs including food and other essential items.

The party also accused the ruling party of mismanaging public resources and neglecting infrastructure development across the state. It argued that government resources are being controlled by a few influential political figures while ordinary citizens continue to bear the burden of poor public services.

The statement further claimed that many roads in the state have deteriorated while unemployment and migration among young people continue to rise. According to the PDP, if the ruling party had devoted the same level of energy to governance as it does to monitoring opposition activities, many of the challenges facing Lagos residents would have been addressed.

Despite the criticism directed at the opposition, the PDP insisted that the party remains active and is working toward repositioning itself to provide alternative leadership for Nigerians.

The party concluded by stating that it is focused on rebuilding and strengthening its structure in order to challenge the APC and offer solutions to the country’s economic and social problems.
