IBEDC Appoints Deolu Ijose as New CEO to Drive Power Sector Reforms

The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company has announced the appointment of Deolu Ijose as its new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer following a reconstitution of its Board of Directors.

Ijose takes over from Francis Agoha, bringing with him extensive experience in Nigeria’s electricity sector. He previously served as Managing Director of the Benin Electricity Distribution Company and also held the position of Chief Commercial Officer at IBEDC, giving him deep insight into the company’s operations.

The board expressed strong confidence in Ijose’s leadership, noting that his experience within the industry and prior role at IBEDC position him well to sustain ongoing reforms while improving efficiency and service delivery.

In his reaction, Ijose described his appointment as an honour and pledged to build on the existing foundation of the company. He emphasized the need to prioritise operational efficiency, strengthen commercial discipline, and improve customer service across IBEDC’s network.
