Nigerian players have dominated the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) Women’s Africa XI for 2025, with four Super Falcons stars earning places in the continent’s best women’s team. Goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, defenders Michelle Alozie and Asheigh Plumptre, and midfielders Christy Ucheibe and Rasheedat Ajibade were named, underscoring Nigeria’s continued influence in African women’s football.

Nnadozie anchors the XI in goal, recognised for her exceptional performances for Nigeria, Paris FC in France, and Brighton & Hove Albion in England, where her shot-stopping skills and leadership have been vital. Alozie and Plumptre bolster the defence alongside South Africa’s Bambanani Mbane and Lebohang Ramalepe, combining athleticism with physical strength.

In midfield, Ucheibe provides defensive stability, while Ajibade contributes creativity and attacking drive, forming a balanced trio with Morocco’s Ghizlane Chebbak, the 2025 CAF African Women’s Player of the Year. The forward line features Malawi’s Temwa Chawinga, Zambia’s Barbra Banda, and Morocco’s Sanaâ Mssoudy, highlighting a mix of established internationals and emerging talents.

The IFFHS emphasised that the XI is a projection for 2025 rather than a retrospective award, based on statistical data and expert analysis of player performances at both club and international levels. The selection highlights the nations currently shaping women’s football in Africa, with strong representation from Nigeria, South Africa, Morocco, and Zambia.

Founded in 1984 in Germany, the IFFHS is an independent body recognised by FIFA, known for its statistical research, annual rankings, and continental teams of the year, which serve as benchmarks for standout performers worldwide.
