FG Commissions 10 Development Projects in Bauchi to Boost Community Services

The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to grassroots development by commissioning 10 strategic projects across Bauchi State, aimed at improving education, healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture, and emergency services. The projects, executed by the North East Development Commission (NEDC) and handed over to the state government, target both urban and rural communities to enhance livelihoods and stimulate local economies.

Among the initiatives are a new NEDC State Office for better coordination, a mega school complex at Dungel along Jos Road, a Medical Emergency Complex at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, and a modern fire service station with a fire truck at ATBU, Gubi Campus. Two Primary Health Centres in Yashi and Shira, renovated and rehabilitated schools in Yelwan Duguri and Maina Maji, an ultra-modern cattle market in Alkaleri, and the Kalajanga–Bara–Tashan Turmi bridges along the Bauchi–Gombe Road were also commissioned.

Minister of State for Regional Development Uba Maigari Ahmed said the interventions are part of the Renewed Hope Agenda and aim to fill long-standing gaps in social services, strengthen public safety, and accelerate regional development. Governor Bala Mohammed commended the projects, noting that NEDC’s support complements state efforts and has delivered visible impact across key sectors.
