Family of Joe Okei-Odumakin Announces Death of Younger Sister

The family of Dr Joe Okei-Odumakin, a renowned human rights activist, has announced the death of her younger sister, Comrade Francisca Mebu, née Okei.

In a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Lagos, Dr Okei-Odumakin confirmed that her sister passed away on Monday in Abuja at the age of 51.

The family, while mourning the loss, appealed for privacy during this difficult period. “While the family grieves over the earthly loss, we request the public to let the family mourn in private,” the statement said.

The statement also offered prayers for the deceased, saying, “May her soul rest eternally with her maker and guide over her young triplet children and her husband.”

No further details were disclosed regarding the circumstances surrounding her death.
