BAFAI Expands AI Curriculum To Boost Africa Global Tech Competitiveness

Artificial Intelligence education institution Bloom Academy for Artificial Intelligence has announced a major expansion of its curriculum and faculty as it positions itself as a leading hub for AI leadership development across Africa and the global south.

The academy unveiled a new suite of programmes alongside partnerships with global industry players in a move aimed at closing the widening AI ss gap. With artificial intelligence transforming industries worldwide BAFAI said its mission is to ensure Africa is not left behind due to limited access to quality education.

Operating from Lagos with a fully online learning platform the institution now offers seven certificate programmes including AI Fundamentals Agentic AI AI Ethics AI Research Workflow Automation Data Annotation and AI Task Management. Many of these courses are available at subsidized rates or through full scholarships to improve accessibility.

Founder and Chief Executive Officer Lola Olukuewu said the initiative is focused on empowering Africans to take ownership of the AI revolution rather than waiting for external intervention. She emphasized that geography should not limit access to opportunity and that Africa must play a central role in shaping the future of artificial intelligence.

Olukuewu who is also a Senior Fellow at AI For Developing Nations and a member of the Forbes Business Council has represented African interests in global AI discussions including engagements in Geneva.

The expansion also includes the addition of over ten international instructors strengthening the academy’s teaching capacity and global perspective.

BAFAI said its programmes are designed for inclusivity requiring no coding background and targeting professionals entrepreneurs and students. Thousands of learners have already benefited from its training with many reporting career growth and practical workplace applications.

Through partnerships with global organisations BAFAI is also helping graduates access international job opportunities reinforcing its commitment to both local impact and global relevance.
