The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has assured President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, of his full support to secure electoral victories in the 2027 general elections.
Yilwatda gave the assurance on Tuesday at the Jos Polo Field during the official reception held to welcome Governor Mutfwang into the APC. He described the occasion as historic and significant, noting that the governor’s alignment with the party has strengthened the APC and positioned it for greater unity and success in Plateau State.
In his address, the APC chairman said the party was now more united and determined to promote social justice and equity in line with its core values. He stressed that unity within the party would translate into peace and development across the state.
“APC is today stronger, better, and more united. Social justice and equity will be promoted in Plateau State in line with the motto of the party. Our coming together will bring the needed peace in the state,” Yilwatda said.
He added that the APC was determined to expand its influence across Plateau, declaring that the party’s symbol, the broom, would “sweep the entire Plateau into the APC and sweep disunity away.” He noted that the APC currently has 29 governors nationwide and expects more to join.
“I want to assure you that President Bola Tinubu and Governor Caleb Mutfwang will win Plateau State overwhelmingly. I will support them wholeheartedly for a second term in 2027,” he stated.
Responding, Governor Mutfwang praised Yilwatda as his “number one supporter” and assured party members that his decision to join the APC was aimed at strengthening the party rather than displacing anyone. He said the move was a realignment in the interest of Plateau State and the wider North Central region.
The event was attended by top party leaders, including Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, and several governors, all of whom described the rally as a landmark moment for the APC in Plateau State.
