Afrobeat Uprising Exhibit in Lagos Celebrates Fela Kuti’s Heritage

The “Afrobeat Rebellion” exhibition, held at the Ecobank Pan African Centre in Lagos, successfully engages audiences with the life and legacy of Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, a groundbreaking Nigerian musician and political activist. Since its October 12, 2025 opening, the exhibition has attracted visitors from Nigeria and beyond, running until December 28, 2025. Curated by Seun Alli and organized by the A Whitespace Creative Arts (AWCA) Foundation, it features rare archival photographs, personal artifacts, and immersive installations that evoke the vibrant atmosphere of Fela’s Kalakuta Republic and the Afrika Shrine.
