John Nwosu, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate in Anambra State, said he supports any political effort that will bring progress to the South-East.
He also told journalists in Awka on Sunday at the ADC secretariat that people should not worry about Peter Obi, the former Anambra governor and 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, not fully identifying with the party because he is still a member of the ADC coalition.
Nwosu explained that Obi is already part of the ADC coalition. He said that different positions were shared among the coalition parties, and the Labour Party, which Obi represented, holds a position that is still occupied by one of Obi’s nominees.
He said, “Labour Party where he (Peter Obi) was the presidential candidate in 2023 was among the key parties that make up the coalition of ADC, and they were given key position.
“PDP, which was given the National Chairman of the party, and that was Senator David Mark, then the APC which was given National Secretary, and that is Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, who is the former minister of interior. Labour party is represented by Hon Chinedu Idigo, appointed by His Excellency, Mr Peter Obi as the National Organizing Secretary and ADC as a party was given Welfare.
“So you can see that he (Mr Peter Obi) has been a part of us from the very inception of this coalition.”
When asked if he would advise Peter Obi to accept the position of running mate, given the desire to ce the government at the center, Nwosu said the APC government has failed and any political effort to remove it should be supported.
