The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has boldly stated that removing President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections will be much easier than the ruling All Progressives Congress’ (APC) historic win over former President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015.
This confident statement was made during the launch of the ADC’s new leadership team in Delta State, where Chief Great Ogboru, a former governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), was introduced as a member.
Speaking on behalf of the party’s National Chairman, Senator David Mark, former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, said the new leadership has been tasked with aggressive nationwide mobilization, membership registration, and validation. They are also responsible for setting up ADC offices across all states, local government areas, wards, and polling units.
Lawal added that the party will increase awareness campaigns to educate Nigerians about its political beliefs and elish the ADC as a strong alternative in elections.
At the event, Chief Great Ogboru said the APC underestimated Nigerians’ desire for ce.
“They did not expect that a small party like the ADC would stand up and say ‘no’,” Ogboru said. “Nigerians and the ADC believe in democracy. For democracy to work, there must be an alternative, and the people must decide.”
Usani Usani, the ADC’s National Vice Chairman for the South-South region, dismissed any idea that President Tinubu would have an easy path to re-election.
“We are here to assure you that defeating this government is easier than it was to remove Goodluck Jonathan,” he said.
Similarly, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, criticized the current political situation, insisting that the ADC is the only real opposition party ahead of 2027.
“Anyone who understands what is happening in Nigeria today knows that the ADC’s mission is to save the country,” Abdullahi said.
“All other parties are weak. Look at what has happened to the PDP and the Labour Party. The government wants a situation where, by 2027, only the APC remains.”
He described the ADC as the “last man standing in the opposition” and the final hope for ordinary Nigerians.
I dont buy it. Tinubu is a political heavyweight, not to be underestimated. Lets wait and see.
I think its premature to compare Tinubus potential defeat to Jonathans. Politics is unpredictable, lets wait and see.
I cant believe theyre comparing defeating Tinubu to defeating Jonathan. Its like apples and oranges! Lets see how it plays out.
I find the ADCs claim intriguing. Do you think they have a solid strategy or just wishful thinking? Lets discuss!
I cant believe theyre already making predictions for 2027! Lets not underestimate Tinubus political prowess just yet.
I dont know about that, defeating Tinubu might be a whole different ball game. Lets wait and see!
Im not sure about that claim. Tinubu has a strong political base. It wont be a walk in the park.
I dont agree with that claim. Tinubu is a formidable politician, and predicting the future of politics is always uncertain.
I disagree with the ADCs claim. Tinubus political prowess cannot be underestimated. It will be a tough battle.
Do you think ADC really stands a chance against Tinubu in 2023? Seems like a bold claim! Lets see how it unfolds.
