Controversial Nigerian cross-dresser Idris Olanrewaju Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, is making headlines again after reportedly revealing he paid N5 million upfront to a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN). The payment was allegedly made as part of efforts to secure a Federal Government pardon related to money laundering charges filed against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
According to Bobrisky, the SAN initially demanded N10 million for the service. However, he explained that he couldn’t raise the full amount due to his frozen bank account, a consequence of the ongoing EFCC investigation. This revelation came from a video shared by popular social media influencer Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), on October 7, 2024.
VDM disclosed that the call recording with Bobrisky took place on May 16, 2024. In the audio clip, Bobrisky detailed how his godfather intervened by paying the initial N5 million, securing an arrangement for him to stay in a well-furnished apartment near the prison. Bobrisky clarified rumors surrounding his incarceration, stating, “I’m not in prison, but I’m around there. They got me an apartment because of my godfather… Let the world think that, but you will never.”
He further mentioned that while he is scheduled to complete his sentence by July, he could be released earlier if the amnesty request, submitted by the SAN, is approved. Despite his current situation, Bobrisky expressed optimism, noting that his legal team has already submitted the necessary documents for the pardon.
Shortly after VDM released the audio recording, Bobrisky took to Instagram to make light of the situation. In his post, he addressed his followers, maintaining a light-hearted and humorous tone. The post quickly went viral, with trending hashtags like #BobriskyDrama, #EFCCScandal, and #NigerianCelebrityNews flooding social media platforms.
The controversy has ignited conversations online about celebrity influence, legal corruption, and the EFCC’s fight against money laundering. Critics argue that Bobrisky’s alleged use of connections to evade full consequences highlights the issues within Nigeria’s legal system. Meanwhile, his supporters continue to rally behind him, making this another chapter in Bobrisky’s ever-eventful public life.
Wow, if Bobrisky can pay his way out of EFCC charges, what about regular citizens? Is this justice or just privilege?
I cant believe Bobrisky is getting away with this! Money talks, I guess. Justice is definitely blind. 🙄
I dont see the big deal. If Bobrisky wants to pay for a pardon, let him. Its his money.
Money shouldnt buy forgiveness. It sets a dangerous precedent. Justice should be blind, not bought.

Is Bobrisky really above the law? Should money buy forgiveness? This is a slippery slope. Justice should be blind.
Money talks, but justice should be louder. Bobriskys actions shouldnt be excused.

It sets a dangerous precedent. Justice should not be for sale, regardless of wealth.
