INEC to Display Preliminary Voter Register in Ekiti State Ahead of June Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Ekiti State, has announced plans to display the Preliminary Register of Voters for public scrutiny as the state prepares for the June 20, 2026 governorship election.

The announcement was made in a statement by the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) Dr Bunmi Omoseyindemi, who confirmed that the display exercise will take place from Friday March 6 to Thursday March 12, 2026 across all designated centres in the 177 wards of Ekiti State.

Omoseyindemi explained that the purpose of the display is to allow residents verify their details on the register and ensure its accuracy ahead of the forthcoming electoral activities in the state. He encouraged members of the public political parties and civil society organisations to participate actively in the exercise.

“The display exercise will enable verification of names and personal details on the register correction of errors in names dates of birth and other particulars submission of claims by eligible voters whose names may have been omitted and objections to ineligible persons including deceased persons or underage registrants,” the statement read.

INEC reassured the people of Ekiti State of its commitment to maintaining a credible, transparent and inclusive voters register while emphasising that the exercise is an opportunity for all stakeholders to ensure electoral integrity.

Residents are advised to visit their respective display centres within the stipulated period to confirm their information and report discrepancies to avoid challenges on election day. The commission noted that public participation is key to upholding a fair and transparent electoral process in the state.
