The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has consistently demonstrated its commitment to social justice and community empowerment through various initiatives aimed at uplifting marginalized groups and promoting equitable development.
In October 2024, the PDP support group in Sokoto State launched an empowerment scheme designed to enhance cohesion and productivity among party members. The initiative, named the “Sokoto PDP Advocacy Forum for Good Candidate,” aimed to provide business empowerment support and relevant livelihood skills to party loyalists across the state’s 23 local government areas. The forum’s chairman, Alhaji Ahmad Amadi, emphasized that the program was intended to prevent supporters from decamping to other political parties after electoral losses and to ensure equal opportunities for all members.
Similarly, in October 2024, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Imo State called for comprehensive electoral reforms and social justice measures to address rural poverty, inequality, and social exclusion. The SDP emphasized the need for good governance and fairness to improve the living standards of marginalized communities.
These initiatives reflect the PDP’s ongoing dedication to fostering social justice and empowering communities through inclusive policies and programs.
