Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike has declared that the political structure in Rivers State is strong enough to deliver overwhelming support for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election without relying on the state governor.

Wike made the statement on Saturday in Port Harcourt during the commissioning of the Rivers State Renewed Hope Ambassadors headquarters. He said his political coalition has deep grassroots reach and the organisational capacity required to mobilise voters across the state for the president re election.

The minister explained that the newly inaugurated facility was designed to enhance coordination and mobilisation efforts. The centre includes Majority FM 89.5 radio station a situation room and a fleet of buses dedicated to political outreach and regional engagement.

Taking a swipe at the current state administration Wike said his movement cuts across party lines and does not depend on the governor office for legitimacy or resources. According to him the group includes senators members of the National Assembly state assembly members council chairmen and party leaders from both the APC and PDP.

Wike stressed that genuine political loyalty must be demonstrated through commitment and personal investment rather than waiting for external support. He said those backing President Tinubu have already shown their seriousness by contributing their own resources and time.

Commending the State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors Ambassador Desmond Akawor Wike noted that coordinators have been inaugurated across all 23 local government areas of Rivers State. He said the widespread mobilisation sends a strong message of readiness ahead of 2027.

The minister reiterated that Rivers State remains firmly aligned with President Tinubu describing the state as fully committed to the Renewed Hope agenda. He recalled the independent political stance taken by Rivers during the 2023 elections and said the same resolve would apply in the next election cycle.
