Denise Bidot, the 38-year-old model and longtime girlfriend of American rapper Lil Wayne, has publicly accused him of physical and emotional abuse, claiming he ended their relationship via text message on Mother’s Day, May 11, 2025. In a series of emotional Instagram Stories posts, Bidot detailed the breakup, alleging that Wayne, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., had his assistants remove her and her 16-year-old daughter, Joselyn Adams, from their shared home in Florida while she was recovering from a mommy makeover surgery. “Breaking up with someone on Mother’s Day is diabolical,” she wrote, adding, “Wayne literally kicked me and my daughter out on Mother’s Day today. I’m just recovering from surgery. I can’t even lift boxes.”
Bidot further alleged that Wayne physically assaulted her, stating, “This man has actually laid a f—ing hand on me. And I took it. And you know what’s crazy is, they always say we’re so stupid for love, and I thought it was a mistake. But I know other women he’s put his hands on.” She also claimed that Wayne was already flying in two women, including reality TV personality Lannette West, to replace her, exacerbating the emotional toll of the breakup, which occurred just before her daughter’s birthday and her upcoming Sports Illustrated press events in New York. Bidot, who uprooted her life from New York City to live with Wayne, expressed betrayal, saying, “I’ve been nothing but supportive to this man, loved him ‘til the end of the world.”
The model has called for lawyer recommendations, signaling potential legal action. Posts on X, including from @Bossip and @BSO, reflect mixed public reactions, with some sympathizing with Bidot’s plight and others questioning her decision to air the allegations publicly. For instance, @wayupwithyee described the situation as “shocking,” while some Instagram comments on The Shade Room’s repost criticized Bidot for involving her daughter in the video or suggested the abuse claims surfaced only after the breakup.
Lil Wayne, 42, has not responded to the allegations, and his representatives have not issued a statement, as noted by outlets like Billboard and Entertainment Weekly. The couple, who began dating in 2020 after Wayne’s engagement to model La’Tecia Thomas ended, have had an on-again, off-again relationship, with a brief split in 2020 over Wayne’s endorsement of Donald Trump. Despite rumors of an engagement in 2021, Wayne clarified they were not married. Bidot’s accusations come at a sensitive time, as Wayne prepares for the release of his album Tha Carter VI on June 6, 2025.
The allegations have sparked significant online discourse, with fans and critics awaiting Wayne’s response and any legal developments, given the severity of the claims and their public airing.
